Design Homes was started to provide high quality modular homes to builders who were seeking more consistent quality than was available through other marketing channels. Designs mission statement from its startup was very simple, "Measure twice, cut once." That declaration continues on as we celebrate our 25th anniversary. Design Homes first focus was to have consistent high quality workmanship in the homes that they built and that is even truer today. Design knows today that the true key to establishing and maintaining consistent quality is to have craftsman-employees who are provided with the correct building tools, quality materials, and are empowered and rewarded for doing it right the first time.

Design Homes is considered a small shop by modular industry standards with a capacity of about 500,000 square feet per year, or about 300 homes of annual production. However, while we are limited to production capacity, we are not limited to craftsmanship of product produced, our ability to build each home as ordered, delivered as agreed, at a guaranteed price.

Our reputation comes from Builder/Developers who have built our homes time and time again since 1982 and continue to do so. When the name Design Homes is mentioned in Builder/Developer circles, words like "Quality", "Design Flexibility", "Great Fit", "Excellent Drywall", and "Custom Home Manufacturer" are all used as benchmarks. Benchmarks Design Homes earned through our willingness to take on projects that were unique, required substantial engineering, and craftsmanship of finished product.

Design Homes adds value from the start. We seek out engineering that meets the required codes, is easily applied on our production line, and creates efficiencies in on site finish. Our purchasing department negotiates the best unit pricing available on standard and special request materials, and constantly reviews new products for opportunities, which keeps Design and its Builder/Developer on the leading edge. Our production team is made up of craftsmen who practice their trade each day to the best of their skills and take pride in what they do. Our transportation department does everything in its power to make the agreed upon delivery day transpire as smooth as possible; they seek the most efficient and safest trip route available.
